Welcome to Huay Pu Keng

Huay Pu Keng (HPK), situated in Mae Hong Son, northern Thailand, is a small village populated primarily by the Kayan (long-neck) and Kayaw (big-ears) Karenni ethnic sub-groups. It is open all year round to visitors.

October 2009: This site will no longer receive regular maintenance. If you wish to stay the night in Huay Pu Keng you can make arrangements with the boat men to collect you the next day and make accommodation arrangements in the village.

January 2009: December is a busy month in Huay Pu Keng. There is the School games, Christmas celebrations, a new year football tournament and even some exams to do! It is also a popular time for people to come to visit the village, being both a period of festivities and of cooler weather. If you are planning to come and visit, don't forget to read the visitor information. It has been recently updated with a list of suitable gifts for the children.

August 28th: Zember was granted permission to leave Thailand today to resettle in New Zealand. We wish her all the best as she goes to start a new life in a new country.

In April the Kay Htoe Boe festival was held, it is the most important festival in the Kan Khwan religion. Site updated with photos of the event.
